"Pierce of My Heart"

As I stood at the door, ready to take flight

He said, don't come back, leave this behind tonight

His words pierced my heart, but I couldn't cry

For I knew deep down, it was time to say goodbye

But as I walked away, I couldn't help but smile

For I knew that this journey had been worthwhile

He taught me to move on, to let go of the past

I spread my wings and flew, free at last

I didn't realize it then, but now I can see

That his tough love was a blessing in disguise for me

For every step I took, my wings began to grow

And I absorbed more than I ever thought I'd know

Thank you, my dear friend, for the amazing ride

For the lessons learned and for being by my side

You may not have realized, but I'm forever changed

And for that, I am eternally grateful and arranged

Now as you see me, soaring high and free

You finally know the person I was meant to be

Thank you for the blessing, for showing me the way

For teaching me to grow, for that, I'll always say

So as I spread my wings and leave this door

I carry your words with me, forevermore

For you were there at the start of my ascend

Thank you, my friend, until we meet again.
